Rhidian has led the creation of new brand identities at NatWest, Barclaycard and Royal Bank of Scotland.  He led the design of the Barclaycard logo, as well as the current card designs at Barclaycard and NatWest.  Scroll down to see examples.

NatWest’s new visual identity differentiated the brand from the other blue bank brands through the use of purple.

Redesigned card suite for NatWest

The redesigned card suite helped differentiate NatWest cards from others in the wallet as well as create greater consistency across cards.

The shift from blue to purple differentiated NatWest from all the other blue banks on the high street, increasing brand attribution.

Barclaycard – new logo and global visual identity, 2008 (Brand Union)

Barclaycard logo

The Barclaycard logo -the ‘open world’ symbol is a metaphor for Barclaycard (open, transparent, strong on the outside, warm and vibrant on the inside).  It modernised the brand, increasing appeal and relevance among the target audience.

Barclaycard visual identity

Barclaycard global visual identity helped drive perceptions of Barclaycard as an innovative brand, as well as future-proofing it for contactless and mobile payments.  It was showcased in Design Week’s Benchmark (book of best practice) and won Best Card Design at the 2010 Credit Card Awards.
